A catch-all project for characters who want to focus on the day-to-day aspects of running the keep in Kirkwall. Characters who choose Base Operations as their primary project will be able to take on official roles/titles such as Quartermaster, Stablemaster, Head Surgeon/Healer, Apothecary, Archivist, Head Cook, Captain of the Watch, etc. (with some co-leadership as necessary when we have duplicate sign-ups). Characters who choose it as a secondary project can be Assistant to those same positions. This project's leader will be the Gallows' Seneschal. Unlike other projects, it will rarely have specifically-relevant mod plots, but these characters will always be welcome to participate in plots in other areas.
This is a list of the project's current participants. Characters can join projects by completing the form and responding to the Personnel comment. While you're welcome to RP the process of speaking to the project leader and joining the project's efforts IC, that isn't required in order to join!
Please put the character's name in the subject line and (Primary) or (Secondary). Remember that your character can only participate in two projects at once, one primary focus and one secondary. If your character switches projects IC, edit your comment here to put (Former) in the subject line.
Find objects or information of interest to a project you're not a member of? Have a question or a problem that the project's members might be able to help you with? This is a group inbox for project members to receive information or requests from others.
Theories, notes, compilations of codex entries, or other project-relevant information that you want to share with everyone but doesn't fit anywhere else.
Reports for project-relevant research, missions, etc., can be filed here. The provided form is a template; feel free to add additional fields if you need them.
Seneschal Sucretio Casoferrazza:Former Seneschal. An Antivan in his late 20s, formerly an assistant to the royal castellan there. He'd spent the last six months as seneschal of Suledin Keep, and has acquitted himself well enough to earn this promotion. Though he was reasonably competent, the Kirkwall operation was much larger and more complicated than his previous posts. He struggled to keep things in order and placed too much reliance on those beneath him as the stress mounted, providing almost no oversight and leaving many departments to essentially fend for themselves. Upon being disciplined for these issues, he had a fit of nerves and resigned without advanced notice in order to return home.

NAME: Salvio Pizzicagnolo DIVISION: Diplomacy CONTACT:Inbox SKILLS & EXPERTISE: note-taking. filing. penmanship and calligraphy. cartography. avoiding unwanted attention. making tea. former assistant to the former seneschal. now promoted... to seneschal.
TITLE: Seneschal CURRENT WORK: Manning the complaint box.... and everything else.
Now that he is seneschal, it's time for you to all do your paperwork! In his demands for his team, Salvio is permissive and passive-aggressive. He would rather write pointed memos in increasingly dangerous ink colors (there's a scale that ranges from black ink [everything is okay] to red ink [everything is awful]) than face someone down. He prizes paperwork and papertrails above all else, and loves designing new memos and forms for people to fill out.
He has taken on this assignment of authority under great duress, because he would much rather have someone telling him what to do than be forced into a position where he suddenly has to tell people what to do--but he's compliant with orders and, now that he has been ordered to be in charge, will make himself be in charge.
If and when one of you drops a ball, Salvio will rush in, scoop it up, and add it to all of the balls that he is carrying around. Why are there so many balls? How should he know, he doesn't ask questions.
COMPLETED WORK & REPORTS: ongoing by which I mean there's a full tray of memos he has yet to read
A subset of the base operations inbox, the Inquisition's general complaint box is posted outside of the base operations office, bolted to the wall and locked with a tiny brass key. The lock is armed with a minor trap.
Request for permission to begin construction of an obstacle course in the courtyard to aid in training Inquisition soldiers for circumstances more varied than pitched battle.

[attached to the page is a neatly notated set of plans for a fairly ambitious course designed to be useful for mages, warriors, and the more stealthily inclined with a prospective list of materials and a few suggestions on how it might be used to improve both singular performance and fighting in concert in Nahariel's just-this-side-of-readable angular scrawl.]

a very delayed reply and packet of papers - OBSTACLE COURSE PROJ NO 1859-8
Enclosed with this letter please find your original plans, as well as a copy of these plans, upon which has been noted this office's proposed phases of said "Obstacle Course". After thorough review, a limited budget has been approved for the first phase of this project, and its three subsequent phases. A site outside of Kirkwall along the Wounded Coast (please consult the enclosed map) has been deemed appropriate for the location of the "Obstacle Course". This office would first commend you on your proposal and the proposed use of your expertise to further and promote the work of the Inquisition.
Please note that there are four approved phases of this project, scheduled to take place across a span of 1 TO 1 1/2 MONTHS (Justinian - Solace). In concord with each phrase of the project, appropriate resources will be provided to you across the span of these months, with additional resources planned for basic upkeep (after review and approval of appropriate requisition forms).
The Base Operations office has filled out the necessary requisition form for the materials listed on your original plans. A space has been left on this form for the names of those Inquisition members employed to work on this "Obstacle Course". The budget approves three to four additional members, working under supervision of the master builder. Please have your participants provide a small list of qualifications for Base Operation records.
Please note that you may petition or otherwise propose a timeline more suitable to your intention and/or the work schedule of those members of the Inquisition that you secure to assist in this project.
Similarly please note that, if additional materials or manpower becomes necessary at any phase of this project, you will please fill out a secondary requisition form and submit for approval, making sure to cross-reference with the project name and number in the space provided, and allowing a timeline of at least one full week for review.
This office apologizes for the significant delay in response to your original request and thanks you for your patience with this office.

[As promised, enclosed with the letter are the original plans, the carefully-copied plans with the four phases of the project marked in different colored inks, with careful notes written in the margins, the map of the designated area (a clear field along the road on the way to the Wounded Coast, previously logged; site review will show that it will particularly need stumps pulled up before construction begins) four requisition forms detailing the supplies required of each phase of the project, each marked with OBSTACLE COURSE PROJ NO 1859-8, and a copy of the secondary requisition form for reference.
OOC NOTE: feel free to loop in three to four PCs to assist with the construction of this obstacle course! Each phase of the course should take a few weeks, with completion of the course achieved in about a month and a half. I suggest rolling for success level of each phase since setbacks might be fun to RP about--maybe a weather delay??? I'm happy to come up with some stuff! I'll patch the mods in to make it an official thing and get the course listed somewhere OOCly as well.]
[hooray~ a team has already been chosen, and they've actually already gotten some work done (since I wasn't sure we'd ever have a real live Seneschal and it's built to be modular so it could be impermanent if that needed to be the case), but clearing the real home and moving it all and finishing and testing and fine-tuning has yet to be done, and nobody's used it yet, so we should be good for Things To Do That Take Time?]
